Established 1926
St. Stephen’s High School, now proudly completing 100 years of dedicated service to education under the auspices of the Mount Tabor Institutions, stands as a living reflection of the farsighted vision of His Grace Mar Thomas Divannasios. With the deep conviction that only through education can a society reach its highest potential, His Grace laid strong foundations for institutions that continue to enlighten generations. Our school, with a strength of around two thousand students from Standards V to X, is enriched by a team of committed teachers who instil confidence, dedication, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility in every child. They are truly the greatest assets of this institution. The unwavering support and close involvement of parents, who walk hand in hand with the school in nurturing the holistic growth of their children, further energise and strengthen our academic community.
We provide abundant opportunities for students to explore and showcase their talents through sports such as football, basketball and cricket, as well as through clubs, music, art, cultural festivals, science fairs, mathematics and social science exhibitions, and various language clubs. Participation in community service, cultural programmes, and social outreach activities helps develop teamwork, leadership, creativity, spiritual empathy, and compassion in our students.
Our students consistently achieve brilliant success at sub-district, district, and state-level competitions, bringing pride to the institution.
In keeping with the needs of modern education, the school is equipped with computer laboratories, digital classrooms, and contemporary teaching methods. Facilities such as transport services, uniforms, nutritious food, learning materials, excursions, and study tours further support a rich learning environment. Hostel facilities are also available for students.
As a government-aided school under the Department of General Education, St. Stephen’s High School strictly follows all government guidelines and ensures that every educational benefit reaches students in a timely manner. The school also actively encourages participation in programmes organised by various social organisations for the betterment of society. Special awareness classes are conducted in collaboration with departments such as the Health Department, Excise Department, and Motor Vehicles Department, providing students with authentic and practical knowledge.
As we celebrate this historic centenary year, I feel deeply proud to be part of the legacy of St. Stephen’s High School. I am profoundly grateful to God and humbly indebted to this great institution for the opportunity to serve. Let us continue this noble journey of learning, service, and excellence together.
